#MHAPayItForward With Edmonton's Local Charities

Posted:Wednesday, September 26, 2018

Everybody wants to be part of a caring community. In the spirit of giving, we're challenging our tenants to pay it forward and make our neighborhoods a place you'd be proud to raise your children.

We're giving our townhome residents rent reductions of $25.00 for one month if they volunteer or donate to make their communities a better place. Additionally, MHA will donate $25 to the MHA Pay It Forward community fund which go towards charities that reach out to us with good initiatives!

To be eligible, take a picture of what you're doing, whether it’s donating or volunteering, write a post outlining what you're involved in that also encourages others to lend a hand in the community, and post it to Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #MHAPayItForward. We'll give you a rent discount for the month, and add $25 to the MHA Pay It Forward community fund! There is a limit of 1 discount per household per quarter. We hope that by encouraging our residents to pay it forward and encouraging their friends to pay it forward, we can create a beautiful ripple effect of compassion and kindness across our communities. You never know the good that can follow from the kindness of one person!

#MHAPayItForward's first donation is going to the Steele Heights Junior Highschool boys and girls basketball teams. For the upcoming 2018-2019 basketball season at Steele Heights Junior High School, we’re sponsoring them to provide new jerseys for both the boys and girls teams at no cost to the students or school. We’re looking to give the kids something they can wear with pride and rock it on the basketball courts! If you would like to help your community, we’ve attached a list of great organizations to consider from our Facebook followers. This is by no means an exhaustive list, you can choose any organization your heart desires.
